It's official this season is done. I had flirted with the idea of doing another couple of races but in the end I decided not too. It came down to two points firstly timing, if I race on it meant that I will be taking a break later into October which I don't want to do. The second point is that my head feels tired, I'm a little bit weary. I'm ready to switch off.
What is the plan you may ask? There are loads of fun things going on for me in the next little while from trips to west Cork to long overdue DIY projects at home to a wedding in London to a surprise holiday.
I will report back on how it's all going.
Time for me to go drink some wine and eat some chocolate. Let the end of season diet take over...
Thanks for reading.

Here I am in the Olympic village and my event is all said and done. I'm tucked up in bed on my lap top with Deirdre Ryan fast asleep in the next bed.
I never really thought about being finished competing at the Olympics at all. I only ever thought about racing. All I have done is prepare for this day. Now it turns out the world has not stopped and I'll need to get up in the morning.
I'm sad that I wasn't in the final. I think I was good enough to have run the times that got through but I didn't so I didn't deserve a place in there. I wish I could have put a great race together and got a chance to line up in there. As it was I ran two seasons bests but they just were not good enough.
I want to say a huge heartfelt thank you to all of the people who have supported me and wished me well here. It was great having all the positive vibes.
The plan is to stay here for the next few days and enjoy all the Irish competing.
Bye bye from Stratford and the Olympic Village,
